Liebster Award Nomination

Well this is a nice surprise. The lovely Yang of Yangloves has nominated me for the Liebster Award which is an award that recognises up and coming bloggers (with less than 200 followers), giving them the opportunity to get their blog out there into the bloggersphere.

I am required to share with you all 11 facts about myself, answer the 11 questions set by the person who tagged me ( in this case Yang), nominate 11 bloggers (again, with less than 200 followers) and task them with answering 11 questions which I have to set (and then let them know about it. obvs). I think that is it (please let me know if I’ve missed something). This is going to be so much fun!

11 Facts About Me (which you may or may not find interesting).

1) I am a Scorpian in the world of Horoscopes.

2) My name translates as “Autumn” in Vietnamese.

3) I love to travel.

4) But hate that I get motion sickness.

5) My boyfriend encouraged me to start blogging. So I did.

6) I recently had laser eye surgery ( see blogpost here).

7) I made my first YouTube video this month (check out my channel here).

8) I love peanut butter. The crunchy kind.

9) I hate bbq sauce.

10) It took me 4 attempts to pass my driving test.

11) I wanted to become in Fashion Designer when I was younger. After two years at The London College of Fashion, I kicked that idea to the curb.

Below are my answers to Yang’s questions.

1) How did you choose your blog’s name?

This was difficult one and I had to call on my close friends to help me decide between two, and Face Made Up got the most votes to I went with it. My blog started as a makeup blog so I think the name is quite self explanatory. When we apply makeup, we are essentially making up our faces, hence Face Made Up, not to be confused with Face Make Up. In hindsight I probably should have picked something else as Google always tries to auto-correct it. #Fail

2) What is your favourite nail colour?

Red. Strangely enough when I was younger, I used to associate red nails with older women and I just thought it was so uncool. Nowadays, red is my go to colour when I don’t know which colour to go for. I go quite dark with wine red in the colder months, and a lot brighter, orangey based red in Spring/Summer.

3) If you had to choose between fake nails, fake lashes and hair extensions, which would you go for?

I’ve had bad experiences with both fake nails and lashes but I’d be willing to give lashes another go. I’m not so sure about hair though, it’s never really appealed to me. I’ve seen really bad hair extensions but also really good ones when done well.

4) Gold or silver jewellery?

Can I say white gold? I used to wear gold when I was much younger but the last few years I have mainly worn silver jewellery or white gold. However lately I have seen a lot of pretty gold jewellery around, especially rose gold.

5) Do you play any musical instruments?

I used to play the recorder in primary school but I wouldn’t be able to play it now. “London’s Burning” was really the only song I could play well.

6) Who is your ultimate celebrity girl crush and why?

Where do I start? lol I love Natalie Portman because she is super talented, naturally beautiful buts also incredibly smart and grounded.

7) Smokey eyes or cat liner?

Smokey eyes

8) What are your 3 holy grail skincare products?

Alpha H Liquid Gold without a doubt is my no.1 holy grail skincare product, followed by Emma Hardie Amazing Face Natural Lift and Sculpt Moringa Cleansing Balm and Ren Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask.

9) If you had to shop from one brand of beauty products for the rest of your life, which would it be?

Probably Nars as it’s the one brand I have probably tried the most products from and I really like the quality of their products.

10) Which blogger/vlogger would you most like to meet?

I’ve met a few of my favourites already but I’d like to meet Estee of Essie Button. I think we’d get along. She’s hilarious.

11) Have you considered to become a full-time blogger (if not one already)?

There is nothing I want more right now then to be able to do it as a full time job. Right now I blog in my free time and I absolutely love it. I can’t remember the last time I felt like this about anything.
