Fall Inspired Makeup - New Urban Decay All Nighter Foundation (Demo & Review)
In this fall/autumn inspired makeup tutorial, I’m giving the new Urban Decay All Nighter Foundation a test run and sharing with you my first impressions. I am also trying for the first time, the new Makeup Geek eyeshadows from the fall 2016 collection plus the new Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip in the shade Barracuda (also incidentally from their new fall collection).

There’s been a lot of rave reviews surrounding the launch of this full coverage, matte finish base and as someone who has an hyper-active t-zone, I was very keen to get my hands on it. I’m not usually one to rock a full coverage foundation, it was more of the promise of a matte base that would last all day.

This is my first dalliance with an Urban Decay foundation and having watched a couple of youtube demos, I decided to pick up shade 4.0 which was pretty much bang onto my NC30 skin-tone. Upon swatching, the shade looked a pinch too light but it does oxidise and pretty quickly too so it ends up being a good match. One pump is enough for my whole face to give a medium to full coverage. Using a damp beauty blender gives me a slightly more sheer coverage so if you want to retain the level of coverage, opt for a foundation buffing brush. I would recommend using a primer with this base and also working quickly to blend it in. I consider myself to have quite an oily t-zone so I was very surprised that I was able to see dry patches on my nose as a result of the foundation clinging onto the skin. Without makeup, dry patches are not really visible to the naked eye. However, well moisturised skin and a primer helps to alleviate this problem.

The foundation lasts a good 8-9 hours before I tend to call it a day and whip it all off but I think can last much longer if needed. Aside from my nose area, which starts to get a bit shiny after around 4-5 hours (nothing a touch of powder won’t resolve), the rest of my makeup stays intact. If you’re after a long lasting foundation that is full coverage yet gives you a matte, flawless finish, I would definitely recommend giving this guy a go. However, I would only recommend this if you have normal/combo/oily skin. If you have dry skin, I don’t think this base would do you any favours.
