Bobbi Brown: Scotch on the Rocks with A Model Recommends

I had the pleasure of attending Bobbi Brown’s recent event at their new flagship store in Covent Garden, London. Dubbed The Studio, the event was for the launch of their new collection, Scotch on the Rocks (very James Bond?), and they managed to call upon model and blogger/vlogger Ruth Crilly from A Model Recommends to model the new collection.

The Scotch on the Rocks collection includes a whole host of beauty goodness including two highlight powders,  lip glosses, nail polishes and a lipstick in four shades. Some of them are limited edition, whilst others are new colour editions to the existing range. The centre-piece of the whole collection though is of course the Warm Glow Eye Palette. First off, if the eyeshadows themselves don’t catch your attention, then the packaging definitely will. Housed in a deep brown, faux-croc casing with a gold metallic rim, it is the look of pure luxury (and would make the ultimate christmas present for makeup junkies…hint, hint). Inside the palette there is a large mirror (essential) but most importantly, there are nine eyeshadows ranging from rich, bronzy metallics to rose golds and deep browns.

The shades veer on the warm side of the tone spectrum (hence the name), with three of the shades being matte and the rest a mix of metallics and sparkle. It is the palette of dreams for those who love a neutral eye and can be worn both day and night. The lighter shades are not the most pigmented but they are buildable (with no fall-out) for a more intense colour pay-off. My favourite of the shades is Velvet Bronze (bottom left), a beautiful, deep, warm bronze that goes on ever so smoothly, and the pigment packs a punch compared to the others. With it being a neutral palette, the colours will suit all eye colours (although it may not show up as well on darker skin tones) but particularly blue eyes as demonstrated on Ruth Crilly.

As mentioned, this would be the perfect Christmas gifts for those who love makeup and particularly those with an addiction to neutral eye palettes *raises hand*. The soft, matte and metallic shades makes for easy daywear whilst the sparkle will bring your look from day to a night in one quick swipe.

Have you tried any of the new products from the Scotch on the Rocks collection?
