7 Holiday Outfit Ideas

Welcome to my first fashion post and since I am away travelling at the moment, I thought it would be nice to put together a post of some of the outfits I have carefully considered and planned for my travels. Without further ado, here are my 7 holiday outfit ideas, a “week in outfits” if you lke…

Outfit 1: The Travel Outfit

If you have a long commute to your destination, whether it be by car, train, ferry or plane, you are going to want to be in an outfit that is comfortable. Jeans (unless of course, it’s the stretchy kind) and heels are out of the question for me particularly if you have ahead a x2 7 hour flight, not including the transportation to and from the airport and the transit times! With that in mind, I picked up a pair of loose fit, printed trousers with an elasticated waistband so they are super comfy. I teamed it with a simple plain black strappy vest and an over-sized knitted cardi. I opted for flat, strappy sandals that I picked up recently in the Office sale (bargain!), my new straw Fedora (didn’t want it to get squashed in my luggage), my wayfarer sunnies and my messenger bag.

Outfit 2: The Day Trip Outfit

For a fuss free option, this bright playsuit is my new summer staple. It’s so easy to style as you don’t have to worry about coordinating your top half with your bottom half and it’s just so comfortable (no awkward panty flashing situations) and would make the perfect outfit when you’ve planned a long day of sight seeing. The only minor problem is when it comes to taking it off when you need to visit the ladies but it’s a small price to pay when your outfit looks this cute.

 Outfit 3: The Shopping Outfit

Dress up a pair of distressed denim shorts with a floral printed kimono with tassle detailing. It’s super lightweight so won’t make you hot a sweaty and just so easy to throw on top of what is seemingly quite a plain, simple outfit to give the whole look a real soft feminine feel to it. Again this is another comfortable outfit and allows you to show off your fashion credentials if you’re planning a bit of a spree.

Outfit 4: The Dinner Outfit

Since skater skirts have made their come back, it’s by far one of the easiest pieces in my wardrobe to wear as it’s flatters all shapes and sizes and is definitely one of most comfortable pieces I own. I teamed it with a light weight, sleeveless magenta top tucked in for that bright pop of colour and my flat strappy sandals to keep things smart/casual. This outfit would be perfect for dining out.

Outfit 5: The Cocktails Outfit

So it’s not a cocktail dress but hey you’re on holiday! Can you tell I like playsuits? This one is completely different from the wrap-over, short sleeved coral playsuit mentioned earlier. It’s black with tiny polka dots and an orange and yellow floral print all over so is perfect for summer. What I love about this playsuit is the lace trim around the neckline and in the sheer panel along the waist which makes the outfit ever so slightly risque and perfectly sexy for cocktails in the evening.

Outfit 6: The Breezy Day Outfit

For cooler days, I always pack a long sleeved top just incase. I like this one I picked up from River Island because it’s very light weight and it has an open back which I like to layer over a plain white tank or vest. It’s also in a  beautiful corn-flower blue shade which was what initially drew me to it in the first place. It’s perfect for evening strolls along the beach where sometimes the breeze can tend to pick up.

Outfit 7: The Beach Outfit

Finally, a kaftan is essential for looking chic on the beach. I picked up this casual, comfy “easy to throw on and easy to take off ” kaftan from Asos. I love that it has a drawstring waist to add a bit of shape and stop you look like you’re wearing a sack. It’s also the perfect length to keep things decent if you decide to stroll outside of the beach vicinity. Make sure to pick up a bikini that fits you well and flatters your shape. My leopard triangle drawstring bikini is an oldie but still very much a goodie
