During a spur of the moment lunch time walk to check out the lunch time offerings around my new office, I somehow ended up in Superdrug and leaving a few quid lighter in the pocket. Yes I've been naughty but drugstore purchases don't really count right? Or so I tell myself. I got overly excited when I saw the '3 for 2' and 'Buy One Get One Half Price' offers and ended up picking 5 items.
The Max Factor stand was my first port of call with the familiar will-power testing '3 For 2' offer. I immediately made a beeline for the Excess Shimmer Eyeshadows as I've seen these around the blogging block recently and was of course very intrigued. I picked up the shades 'Bronze' which is has a warm, coppery look to it, and 'Copper' which ironically is not coppery at all but more like a very pale, cool toned gold
To make up for the third product in the 3 for 2 promo, I picked up the recently launched Creme Puff Blush which to be honest with you I didn't know the name of until typing up this post, and now I'm quite confused as upon initial inspection, I was sure it was a powder. Now I'm even more intrigued!
The next two products I picked up were part of Bourjois' 'Buy One Get One Half Price' promo, and had only spotted it a few days before on the bloggersphere. They were the NEW 'Colourband 2 in 1 Eyeshadow and Liner', which are eyeshadows in a crayon format which you can use as all over the lid eyeshadows or as eyeliners. To be honest, I think as eyeliners, they are slightly on the thick side so might make getting a neat and finesse line along the lashes tricky to achieve. Surprisingly I chose not to pick up the predictable brown shade and instead went for the lilac shade called 'mauve' and for a peachy rose shade called 'Rose Festive'. Upon initial inspection, they seem smooth in texture and easy to apply and quite shimmery.
I'm really looking forward to giving these product a test run to see how they perform, particularly the Excess Shimmer Eyeshadows as their lightly, whipped texture is so different from anything I've used before.
Have you used any of these products? If so, what do you think of them?
