I don’t think I’ve seen a more beautiful piece of makeup. Ever! The colours; Plums, taupes, rose golds and sumptuous olive greens. The tones; Cool, soft, neutral. The textures; smooth, silky and easy to blend. The finishes; mattes, satins, super, shiny metallics and with a sprinkle of sparkle. Gorgeous. Gorgeous. GORGEOUS! Admittedly, the outer packaging does it no favours. Simple, not sleek. Black. And boring. Plastic yet functional. The term ‘don’t judge a book by it’s cover’ certainly springs to mind and a gentle reminder that it’s what’s on the inside that counts.
I introduce you to the 35T (even the name leaves a lot to be desired) eyeshadow palette from budget (not to be mistaken with ‘cheap’) U.S. makeup brand Morphe Brushes which is making it’s mark in the Youtube beauty sphere. Morphe Brushes are probably more known for their extensive line of affordable makeup brushes that give the higher end brands such as Nars, Mac, Bobbi Brown and Sigma, a good run for their money but their eyeshadow palettes are certainly making a name for themselves. I’ve used brands who create similar looking palettes in the past. Plain and generic looking on the outside and pretty similar results on the inside. Poor. So with my first encounter with one of the Morphe Brushes eyeshadow palettes (the limited edition Jaclyn Hill Favourites), I was not expecting much but had merely caved into much of the rave reviews on Youtube.
I have to put my hands up and admit that I was very pleasantly surprised, so I had no hesitations in picking up a second palette, the 35T, and I really hope this video does the palette justice. (because it’s pretty darn good!). The palette retails for $22.99 on the Morphe Brushes website. I’ve already made an order for my third palette….
