Summer Beach Party Makeup - Sparkly Eyes & Glowing, Bronzed Skin

So most of us probably won’t live in a location/climate that allows us to swan to and from outdoor parties especially if it’s on a beach or even by the pool but that’s what Coachella/Vegas/Ibiza/Marbella are for! It might seem counter-intuitive to those not bothered about makeup, to put on makeup when you’re probably going to sweat it all off anyway under the heat of the sun or through throwing shapes on the dance floor (or whatever designated dance area there is). And if you’re game for a bit of splash action, there’s a huge risk that your makeup will streak in the water. Disaster! I mean what is the point right? Wrong! Whilst your makeup may start to disintegrate way before the end of the night, we still want to look our best even if for only the first half an hour of the party. It’s all in the product you use and the application.

If you’re going to be outdoors especially for a long period of time then sun protection is a must. Make sure you apply this all over your face (and body) under your makeup, or have it included in your makeup. The Laura Mercier Oil Free Tinted Moisturiser gives you a light coverage with an SPF of 25. I’ve used some different textures in the tutorial because I wanted to overall look to not only look light but also to feel light on the skin and cream products are best for this. They give more of a natural finish on the skin compared to powders (and under the scrutiny of the harsh sunlight, you don’t want tale-tale signs). And of course, make sure your brows and mascara are waterproof! Panda eyes and missing/smudged brows have never been a good look. Oh and because who can be bothered with perfecting that pout throughout the day/night? Swap lipstick for gloss as it requires no mirror or the need for precision when applying. Just swipe it on and you’re good to go! Opt for natural pink/peach gloss for a hint of colour and plenty of shine!
